PROGRAMME FOR THE 3rd WORKSHOP
“ADOPTION OF INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS”

General
IFAN IN CHINA workshops were succeeded satisfactorily in China. They provided a good platform on intercommunion of standards application, and are appreciated by all participants.
To keep the activity going on, the 3rd workshop “Adoption of international standards” will be going to be held on 12-14 June 2008 in Shenzhen (China). CAS will host it.

Subject
The topic of the workshop is “Adoption of international standards”. The contents include the adoption of international standards in international and China, the Intellectual Property Rights(IPR), the technological barriers and solutions in international trade, cases of standardization activities.

Participants
Foreigner: IFAN members who are interesting in this workshop, senior experts who familiarize the
matters of international technological trade barriers and IPR, managers of standardization from 500
strong international enterprises
Chinese: CAS, officials from National Development and Reform Commission, and managers of
standardization from leading enterprises in Chinese equipment-manufacturing industry

Scope and Form
This workshop will invite equipment-manufacturing enterprises mostly. The number of participants will be controlled in 120—150. It will pay attention to exchange opinions and discussion each other in order to obtain more valuable information for participants.

Expense
Foreign participants will pay their traveling expenses to China only. CAS will pay all expenses for them from they landing in China, including their accommodation, meals and workshop fees.
