IPAF training reaches the Caribbean
The Barbados Agricultural Management Company (BAMC) based in Warrens, Barbados now has seven IPAF-qualified MEWP operators in the categories Mobile Vertical (3a) and Mobile Boom (3b), thanks to training delivered by IPAF-approved training centre Rapid Platforms Ltd of the UK.

The two-day course was run at BAMC's Andrews facility in early June, with additional candidates selected from BAMC's Portvale site.
BAMC recently purchased a scissor lift and a cherrypicker from Rapid Platforms. During negotiations, the subject of operator training was discussed, and the BAMC management decided to introduce the training requirements of the Barbados Safety and Health at Work Act ahead of its actual implemention into Barbados law.
BAMC has also decided to introduce a thorough examinations schedule on its MEWPS, again ahead of the legal requirement to be introduced by the Act.
