2008 IAEA General Conference opens 29 in Vienna.

The 2008 IAEA General Conference - the 52nd regular session - opens 29 September at the Austria Center in Vienna.

In conjunction with the Conference, a Scientific Forum is held, this year focused on the IAEA´s future. A report by the Commission of Eminent Persons lays out recommendations for the IAEA´s role to the year 2020 and beyond.

Registration is open as of 14 July for designated representatives from IAEA Member Staes and invited non-Member States and organizations. Journalists must register through the IAEA Division of Public Information Press Office.
