The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) would like to remind all members of its upcoming week of meetings to be held April 12-16, 2010, in the Washington, DC, metro area. These meetings are being co-located to provide convenient access for members interested in attending multiple events. The week’s lineup includes several of the ANSI Member Forums as well as meetings of the International Policy Committee (IPC), Intellectual Property Rights Policy Committee (IPRPC), the Regional Standing Committee - Asia Pacific (RSC-AP), and a U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG).
The week’s largest event – the Joint Member Forum (JMF) – will be held on April 14 as a Workshop on Anti-Counterfeiting Standards and Conformance Measures: Developing a public-private partnership for addressing gaps in the global supply chain.

The JMF will provide an opportunity to share information about health and safety aspects of counterfeiting issues of concern to industries, companies, and consumers. The meeting will explore what is being done to address the issues and the role that standards and conformity assessment systems can play in devising solutions. The workshop is open to all ANSI members as well as technical experts on the U.S. TAG to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee (TC) 247, Fraud Countermeasures and Controls, and ISO Policy Committee (PC) 246, Anti-Counterfeiting Tools.
